Jacuzzi pool

As from the summer season 2006/7 the Greyt-on-Main guesthouse offers a jacuzzi pool in its backyard garden. Take a bottle of wine from the cabin-based "honesty fridge": be happy!

The Vienna Lounge

Leading off the dining area or separately accessible is the Vienna Lounge, where - as Greyt-on-Main is fully licenced - all sorts of beverages are served, and Helderbrau Lager is on tap, which is brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law.
The lounge is a really sumptuous room of old world charm, and a décor reminiscent of the Austrian Capital Vienna. You sit on leather- or tub cane chairs which are grouped around granite-topped cocktail tables. You have your drink, select your dinner and continue your conversation, as your meal is being prepared. There is no feeling of sitting around waiting for the food to arrive: a nice touch.
While enjoying pre-dinner drinks and after-dinner coffee with a selected digestif, you may listen to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing waltzes, and other cosy background music. In this ante room you may smoke, and for cigar aficionados we keep on stock genuine Havana Puros.
A wide selection of South African Wines is served from the lounge. Wines of different origin-defined production areas are offered, and a particular focus is set on affordable prices in an increasingly costly wine market. It is the owner's policy to buy the wines directly from the estates and to avoid the trade. It is only consequential that he himself goes to the producers and so builds up mutual confidence and appreciation.
Popular cultivars are offered in three or more, less popular in one or two different categories, and the gradation ranges from dry to off-dry and sweet. A great selection of blended wines is available, but ros wines are restricted to a few. Cap Classique sparkling wines are either blended like in the Champagne (47% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir and 9% Pinot Meunier) or straight Blanc de Blanc (100% Chardonnay). A rosé sparkling wine is also on offer. All wine descriptions are merely by the alcohol (vol-%), the total acidity (g/l) and the residual sugar (g/l) and do not reproduce the winemakers' flowery praise. All wines except .375 l and special grand crus are served by the bottle or by the glass, ensuring to have the right wine accompany the different courses.
